The KUT PhD Scholarship is designed to cover your financial needs during your doctoral studies. This may include a monthly stipend, tuition fees, and possibly other expenses like research costs or accommodation assistance. Eligibility Criteria:
- International student with a strong background in engineering

- To have high English proficiency (TOEFL iBT 72, IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2, CET6)
- Applicants must have completed a Master’s degree before enrollment.
Benefits:
- Covers all tuition fees (including entrance exam, enrollment, and annual fees)
- Provides a monthly stipend of 150,000 yen for living expenses (taxes apply)
- Offers a one-time payment of 150,000 yen for travel and initial living costs (for international students outside Japan applying for student status)

Application Process:
The application process involves two stages:
- Pre-Application:
- Choose a research project from the KUT list here.
- Submit a pre-application request to the leader of your chosen project through the KUT online form.
- Get approval from the project leader to proceed.
- It’s recommended to start this at least 6 weeks before the formal application deadline.
- Formal Application:
- Once you have project leader approval, gather the required documents (details to be announced).
- Submit the complete application package by mail before the deadline.
Note: Applications without project leader approval won’t be considered. The university may also conduct interviews and exams as part of the selection process.
