HAN University is offering exciting scholarship opportunities for international students from outside the European Union/European Economic Area (EU/EEA) who are looking to pursue a full-time Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program taught entirely in English. HAN University also known as HAN University of Applied Sciences, is one of the biggest applied sciences universities in the Netherlands. You may qualify for one of the HAN scholarships. The Scholarship is offered in collaboration with the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science.
There are two types of scholarships for bachelor students and master students. One is HAN NL Scholarship and another is Honors Scholarship. Please note that it is not a fully funded scholarship. You may have to cover other expenses in the Netherlands. In the next sections, we’ll cover the eligibility criteria, application process, and other essential details.

Types of Scholarships at HAN University:
- For Bachelors Degree Program
- HAN NL Scholarship (formerly HAN Holland Scholarship): You will receive a total of €12,500. In this first semester, you will get €2,500, and then again €2,500 in the second semester. After that, you can receive €2,500 per year for 3 years of study.
- Honors Scholarship: You don’t need to apply separately for this scholarship. The academic board of your chosen program awards this scholarship based on your outstanding academic achievements in your first year. The payment starts at €2,500 in the 2nd year. After that, you can receive €2,500 each following year of study.
- For Master’s Degree Program
- HAN NL Scholarship: You will receive €2,500 in the 1st semester and €2,500 in the 2nd semester.
- Honors Scholarship: The Honors Scholarship is a once-only payment of €2,500 in the 2nd semester.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Be an international student
- New to Dutch education
- You must be applying for a full-time Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program taught entirely in English at HAN University.
- You’ll need to prove your English proficiency by scoring at least 6.5 on the IELTS test, 90 on the TOEFL iBT test, or achieving a Cambridge Certificate (CAE or CPE).
Benefits:
- Get €2,500 per semester for your first year at HAN University.
- Keep your grades up (earn at least 45 credits each year) and you can renew the scholarship for up to 3 more years!
- If you keep up the good work, this scholarship could be worth a total of €10,000 to help with your tuition fees.
