The 14th ASEF Journalists Seminar in Hungary offered by the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), ASEF stands for the Asia and Europe Foundation. This fully-funded program, is an incredible chance for young journalists to learn from experienced professionals and each other. Held in Budapest, Hungary, the seminar will provide participants with a platform to explore current issues in Asia-Europe relations, enhance their reporting techniques, and build lasting connections with journalists from diverse backgrounds. The ASEF Journalists Seminar is open to young journalists from all 51 ASEM partner countries. Whether you’re just starting your career or have a few years of experience under your belt, this program is a great way to take your journalism skills to the next level.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the key applications of AI in newsrooms, from content creation to audience engagement.
- Explore the potential of AI to improve workflow efficiency and productivity.
- Gain insights on using AI for audience analysis and content personalization.
- Learn how AI can be leveraged to combat misinformation and disinformation.

The Future of News: Exploring AI in Journalism:
This theme focuses on the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on various aspects of journalism, including:
- News production and workflow efficiency
- Content creation and personalization
- Audience engagement and interaction
- Combating misinformation and disinformation
- Ethical considerations and best practices
Eligibility Criteria:
- Citizen of 51 ASEM partner countries.
- Be a working journalist with a minimum of two years of experience in the field.
- Be under 35 years old at the time of application.
- Be proficient in English as the seminar will be conducted entirely in English.
- Be in good physical and mental health, able to participate actively in the seminar program.
- Demonstrate a strong willingness and enthusiasm to actively participate in the seminar discussions, workshops, and collaborative projects.

- Return Airfare from home country to Hungary.
